How the school started, and what it stands for.

Our story

Sunrise Nursery & Primary was founded on a straightforward conviction — that a child's education should not depend on how much noise their parents are willing to make. We teach thoroughly, we keep classes small enough to matter, and we say plainly how each child is getting on.

What we are trying to do

Educate the whole child — mind, character and body — to a standard we would want for our own.

Where we are going

To be the school in this community that families recommend to each other without being asked.

What we hold to

Thoroughness — the work is finished, not covered.
Honesty — you will hear the real picture, including when it is uncomfortable.
Order — a day that runs to time is a day children can learn in.
Respect — for the children, for the staff, and for the families who trust us.

How the school is organised

The sections of the school

Each phase has its own rhythm, its own staff and its own way of working.

Early Years

Creche through Reception — a gentle, play-led start where children learn to be curious, sociable and confident before formal lessons begin.

Primary

The foundation years. Reading, numeracy and the habit of asking questions, taught by teachers who know every child by name.

Junior Secondary

A broad curriculum leading to the BECE, where students start to find the subjects they are good at and the ones they love.

Senior Secondary

Science, Arts and Commercial streams, with WAEC and NECO preparation and real guidance on what comes after school.
